LCN Membership Guide: How to Become a Member?

Joining the network is free and takes a few minutes. Follow the steps below.

1. Create an account

Click the Sign Up link in the top menu. Your first name, last name, username, email, and a password of at least 8 characters are sufficient. Your username appears in your profile address (e.g., /uye/kullaniciadi/), so choose a name you want to be permanent.

2. Complete your profile

After signing up, you are directed straight to the Settings page. We recommend adding:

• Photo, the fastest way to be recognized on the network
• Title and institution, describe what you do in one line
• City, the member directory is filtered by city
• About, a brief introduction in a few sentences
• Interests, write them separated by commas

3. Join groups

Join working groups that match your interests from the Groups page. You enter open groups instantly; for closed groups, you wait for administrator approval.

4. Make your first post

Leave a short note introducing yourself in the box on the feed page. You can mention someone by typing @username, and start a topic with #hashtag.
