Highlights from the Advocacy and Art Workshops

The workshops were built on production rather than theoretical narration. Participants experienced a process from idea to output within two days.

Workshop flow

1. Problem mapping, participants brought concrete problems from their own surroundings
2. Narrative building, the problem was turned into a story
3. Format selection, it was discussed which medium was appropriate
4. Production, shooting, recording, writing
5. Feedback, an intra-group critique session
6. Publication plan, where, when, to whom

Outputs

One group archived the program posters of the district's cultural center for a year and visualized the gender distribution of speakers. Another group shot short portrait videos with women artisans in the neighborhood. Both works were featured in the local press.

Participants' notes

The most frequently expressed gain was not technical skill, but the feeling of "I can do it." The most concrete outcome of the workshops was that participants started their own projects after the program.
