Project Activities and Achievements

SANATLA progressed along five activity lines that fed into each other throughout its duration. Below is a summary of what each line entailed and what it resulted in.

1. Local culture mapping

Local artists, culture producers, and institutions in Turkey and Greece were scanned; an open-access record was created answering the question of who produces what and where. The map formed the basis of the network's member directory.

2. Art and advocacy workshops

In film, photography, music, and writing workshops, young people gained both technical skills and practice in using these skills for advocacy. The workshop outputs were published on the platform.

3. Youth round table meetings

In annual meetings, young people, NGO representatives, and local administrators came together at the same table; the outputs were compiled in the form of policy recommendations.

4. Digital training modules

Free online modules were prepared on topics such as gender-sensitive media production, psychosocial empowerment, and advocacy through art.

5. Local Culture Network platform

The digital infrastructure that holds all this production together and continues to work after the project, namely the platform you are currently reading, was established.
