Information Literacy, Agenda Setting and Digital Youth Advocacy Training
Three days, three topics: access to information and verification, agenda setting, digital advocacy. Trainers Dr. Serra Sezgin and Çağla Harputlu.
Within the scope of Capacity Building Activities, the three-day Information Literacy, Agenda Setting, and Digital Youth Advocacy Training was held on September 20-21-22, 2024, at Raymar Hotel in Ankara. 30 people participated, including representatives of non-governmental organizations from 11 project provinces, the project team, and project partners.
Day One: Information Literacy
Under the instruction of Dr. Serra Sezgin, the process of defining, finding, and managing information; accessing information sources and methods for reaching accurate information; managing and verifying information with digital tools; critical thinking and coping with information overload were covered. The day was spent with interactive activities.
Day Two: Agenda Setting
Under the instruction of Çağla Harputlu, selecting and framing key issues, creating strategic messages, audience targeting strategies, and agenda dissemination channels were discussed.
Day Three: Digital Advocacy
Digital advocacy, social media, and online campaign management were addressed. Later in the day, effective advocacy and communication techniques with digital tools were learned, followed by practical application.
Outcome
The training was completed with the aim of guiding non-governmental organizations to understand the importance of the digital environment for developing their advocacy activities, and to effectively use digital tools and platforms to attract the interest of young people and mobilize them.
