Interaction of Cultures: Creative Dance Workshop (Diyarbakır)
Three days with the participation of 15 young people. A program ranging from bodily acquaintance to collective storytelling, and from there to discussing gender codes in dance.
The Dance Workshop themed Interaction of Cultures and Creative Dance was held on November 12-13-14, 2024, at MORDEM Sanat in Diyarbakır with the participation of 15 young people.
Days
- First day: bodily introduction, introduction to concepts, dance-based trust practices, creating stories with bodily movement, expressing emotion through movement
- Second day: holistic interaction, bodily expression accompanied by music, creative movement
- Third day: identifying gender codes in dances, creating collective stories and performances
Aim
Through the workshop, ways to challenge and reshape gender codes and prejudices about different cultures were collectively considered, designed, and experienced.
