Annual Youth Roundtable Meeting

The first Annual Youth Roundtable Meeting within the scope of the Youth Advocacy Activity was held on June 8, 2024, at Demora Hotel in Ankara.

Youth rights advocates from six project provinces, namely Ankara, Diyarbakır, Edirne, İzmir, Hakkâri, and Van, and from our project partner in Greece, Cell of Alternative Youth Activities (KEAN), along with the Uçan Süpürge Foundation project team and Board of Directors, participated.

Sessions

• Opening: Introduction, followed by a presentation of the planned activities and outcomes within the framework of youth rights advocacy and gender equality regarding the project's content and working areas.
• Problem Identification: Discussion on identifying problems related to youth rights and proposing solutions.
• Art with Youth: Deconstruction of Mental Models: Designing drama, music, and dance workshops on various themes by dividing into groups.
• Local Culture Network: Sharing stories of women who sustain and produce local culture in their own provinces and content suggestions for the digital platform to be established within the project.

Outcome

At the closing, the Youth Selection Committee was formed. The aim was to establish active and sustainable connections with youth rights advocates for the activities to be carried out in the continuation of the project. The meeting concluded with an exchange of ideas on key strategies that set the agenda in the fields of gender equality and youth advocacy for young women and girls.
