Local Women's Stories: Narratives Through Art

This section brings together the women’s narratives compiled within the scope of the project. The stories were produced in the form of drawings, photographs, audio recordings, short films, and writings.

Method

The narratives were not dictated; participants told their own stories in the format they chose. Workshop facilitators only provided technical support.

• The experience of migration and displacement
• Intergenerational transmission, crafts learned from grandmothers
• Visibility and safety in public spaces
• Producer women’s cooperatives and solidarity economies
• Invisible labor in artistic production

Ethical framework

Written consent was obtained for each narrative. Participants have the right to withdraw their narratives at any time. The use of names was left to the participant’s preference; some narratives were published using only initials.
